1. Data Controller

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, the data controller is CucinAI ("we", "us").

Contact: support@cucinai.com

2. Data We Collect

We may process the following categories of personal data to provide the Service:

  • Account & Identity: first name, last name, email address
  • Location (User-Provided): country, city/province
  • In-App Content: inventory items and related details you add
  • Authentication & Operational Logs: records related to account creation/sign-in and basic service operations

Analytics (e.g., usage analytics) are not used at this time.

3. Device Permissions

Camera and photo/media access may not be required today; however, future features (e.g., adding images to inventory) may require access to your camera and/or photo/media selection. These permissions are used only with your consent through your device's permission controls. Where feasible, we aim to use more privacy-preserving system features (e.g., OS photo pickers) instead of broad library access.

4. How We Use Your Data

We process personal data for the following purposes:

  • Account creation, authentication, and session management
  • Providing core functionality (inventory management)
  • Responding to support requests and communicating with users
  • Security, abuse prevention, and maintaining service integrity

5. Legal Bases

We process personal data in accordance with applicable laws, primarily on the basis of contract performance (providing the Service), legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, service operations), and where required, consent (e.g., camera/photo permissions).

6. Sharing and Transfers

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share data only as necessary to operate the Service, with the following categories of recipients:

  • Infrastructure/Hosting Providers: servers, databases, and storage services
  • Authentication Providers: email/password auth and, in the future, Google/Apple sign-in
  • Email/Communication Providers: to handle support communications

Some service providers may be located outside your country. Where cross-border transfers occur, we take steps intended to ensure appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.

7. Data Retention

  • Account Data: retained while your account is active.
  • Inventory Data: retained while your account is active.
  • After Deletion: removed/anonymized from active systems after your deletion request is completed, subject to legal requirements.
  • Backups: encrypted backups may retain data for up to 30 days for security and business continuity; after that period, backups are overwritten or destroyed.
  • Legal Obligations: certain data may be retained longer if required by law.

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; therefore we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we strive to apply appropriate safeguards as required by law.

9. Children's Privacy

CucinAI is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware of such collection, we will take appropriate steps.

10. Your Rights and Requests

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your personal data. You can submit requests by emailing support@cucinai.com.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates become effective when posted on this page.
